Karine Valin

Managing Director

"When I joined Sigma Orionis (ex Sigma Consultants) in 1999, I already had an expectation of rare professional ethics, motivating projects, a high-performance environment and rapid career prospects. I also decided to join Sigma Orionis because of its reputation for quality and professionalism, and because the company seemed a really lively and enjoyable place to work. Today I can say that my expectations have certainly been surpassed. Sigma Orionis has offered me the opportunity of a very challenging career. I quickly got the chance to discover for myself the company's excellent reputation. I was promoted after 6 months to Project Manager, and then to Marketing Manager. I was also quickly given the opportunity to manage an outstanding team, with whom it was possible to share high professional values and a real commitment to work and service. In autumn 2002, our CEO offered me the management of the Homega Research Division, specializing in his own fascinating area of expertise: technologies and services for the home. Then, in early 2005 he invited me to become Sigma Orionis's Managing Director. I quickly assessed the challenges involved and accepted them with pleasure and determination. I also agreed to take them up because of the people working in my team: they are all talented, hard-workers, self-starters, and highly driven to moving forward together. I am obviously strongly committed to supporting my team and focusing on our clients. I take great pleasure in my work and I definitely think this is essential!"

Karine Valin graduated from the International Business School of Fontainebleau (linked to the INSEAD Business School) and from Evry University (with a postgraduate degree in international marketing & business development). After a study period at the International Business School of Northumbria (Newcastle, UK), she began her career in 1996 as an export manager in a French company. Karine was in charge of setting up the company's commercial export network both in Europe and Asia, and was particularly involved in setting up its UK subsidiary. In 1999, Karine Valin joined Sigma Orionis (formerly Sigma Consultants), and was given responsibility for the company's business and international cooperation events (conferences, workshops & seminars, study trips, etc.) mainly in Europe, the US, and Asia. Early in 2001, Karine was appointed Marketing Manager in charge of defining the company's marketing strategy and coordinating all its marketing activities. In October 2002, she was asked to manage the newly created Homega Research Division specializing in technologies and services for the home. In early 2003, Karine Valin was made a member of Sigma Orionis Board of Directors before being appointed Managing Director of the company in early 2005.
