The BeyWatch EU project, a European initiative aiming at developing an energy-aware and user-centric solution, able to provide intelligent energy monitoring/control and power demand balancing at home/building & neighbourhood level, is pleased to announce its official launch on December 1, 2008. BeyWatch is an industry-lead initiative, coordinated by Telefonica I+D and including in its partnership 8 partners representatives of major service companies (EDF, Telefonica I+D), white goods manufacturers (Fagor, Gorenje), technology companies (Synelixis , Advantica), universities (University of Palermo) and a SME (Sigma Orionis). BeyWatch is a 30-month research project, partly funded by the European Commission's DG Information Society and Media (DG INFSO), under the FP7. Project partners have planned to meet in early January for a kick-off meeting expected to usefully allow to specify, organise and plan into more details the various short-term activities of this key European initiative. For more information about the BeyWatch project we recommend to visit the BeyWatch website or to contact us.
