The final review of the CATER project, supported by the European Commission under the FP6 research funding programme, has been held today in the premises of the European Commission in Brussels. The project, led by the Fraunhofer Institute and in which Sigma Orionis has participated as the consortium partner in charge of market research and dissemination activities, has focused on networked business in the automotive area, supporting personalisation of products to the explicit and emotional needs and wants of the international clients and enabling to a certain extent mass customisation of vehicles. In their final report, the European and external reviewers assigned by the European Commission have underlined the good achievements of the project, namely as it regards the conceptualization and concrete demonstration of the solutions and encouraged the consortium partners to explore in detail exploitation opportunities with already identified potential end-users.
