December 2, 2013

EuroAfrica-ICT-Forum_2013_Group-pictureThe 6th Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT opens today at the African Union Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia under the aegis of the European Commission and of the African Union Commission.

The event is organized by the EuroAfrica-ICT project supported by the European Commission and coordinated by Sigma Orionis, and occurs at a time when Europe launches its Horizon 2020 framework programme for research and innovation and when the African Union celebrates its 50th anniversary, namely through an African ICT week in which the Forum is included.

Over 330 participants have registered and 20 sessions are been planned to leave them time enough to share knowledge and explore cooperation potential. In his opening remarks, Roger Torrenti, CEO of Sigma Orionis, underlined that in such a context, we should have some good confidence in the quick development of cooperation projects of mutual interest in the ICT domain between the two continents.
