The Big Data phenomenon presents many opportunities for researchers, businesses, public authorities and citizens. To tap this potential, it is essential that data can be exchanged and reused – so as to maximize the value society extracts from each dataset. The project assists EU stakeholders in understanding and exploiting the potentials of data reuse in the context of Big and Open Data, namely through the development of use cases and business models that are economically viable, legally certain and taking societal needs and concerns into account. EuDEco leverages the engagement of other projects conducting pilots on data reuse as well as external experts and stakeholders. The project will deliver an integrated model of the data economy, and an observatory for policy makers to track the development of the data economy.

Sigma Orionis leads the activities addressing “Engagement and integration” and contributes to all other WPs, including the socio-economic analysis and dissemination activities.
