A successful Game-Changer Communities Networking Session at ICT2015
The CAPS-oriented networking session, entitled “Empowering Game-Changer Communities”, which took place on October 21 at ICT2015, the biggest European event on ICT, provided the participants (more than 50) with valuable inputs about possible approaches to work with innovative communities and stakeholders such as SMEs, creative and civil society organisations.
After a short opening by Marta Arniani from Sigma Orionis, who presented a set of working methodologies and recommendations leveraging the company experience in CAPS as well as in ICT & Art Connect and #MusicBricks, Marco Sachy from Dyne presented his projects on the Freecoin and the way digital currencies have been experimented in Spain and Iceland in the framework of the D-CENT project, together with future plans for the PIE News project, particularly insisting on the role of the community for such kind of tests to reach a real scale. Andrea Nicolai of T6 Ecosystems then presented the IA4SI project and its activities to promote Social Innovation in Europe and to measure its real potential in terms of impact. Michela Magas, Director of Stromatolite and co-chair of the Innovation Ecosystems group of AIOTI (European Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation) then presented her vision on the real needs of SMEs to be able to enter EC-funded projects based on her own experience as an SME director and on her role at the CONNECT Advisory Forum (CAF). Last but not least, Filippo Addarii of The Young Foundation presented a provocative vision of EU-funded programmes, in order to motivate the audience to bridge different kind of actions and dialogue with stakeholders at every level in order to achieve more impact.
The Networking session was concluded with an animated Q&A session: economics as the only driver of human activity, engagement in voluntary work, these are just a few of the topics discussed during this open discussion moment.
