Sigma Orionis contributes connecting ICT and the creative industries

August 20, 2013

Over the last 5 years, Sigma Orionis has been at the origin of many initiatives aiming at connecting ICT & Art: launch of the WIki-Art movement, creation of the NEMart component of the annual NEM Summits, coordination of the FET-ART FP7 project, etc.

Therefore, Sigma Orionis is particularly happy today to announce its involvement in the Cre-AM FP7 project, coordinated by Brunel University, to be launched in October 2013, and addressing the connection between ICT domain and the creative industries at large.

More precisely Cre-AM aim at bridging communities of creators with communities of technology providers and innovators, in a collective, strategic intelligence/roadmapping effort to streamline, coordinate and amplify collaborative work towards developing, enhancing, and mainstreaming new ICT technologies and tools by addressing the needs of different sectors of the creative industries (e.g. art, culture, publishing, design etc.).

The main results of this project will be a Creativity Research Adaptive Roadmap, including recommendations for policy, planning, and decision making for the creative industries community and convergent plans for specific future actions and initiatives developments for each creative sector.
