The OpenChina-ICT final conference at ICT 2013 in Vilnius

June 10, 2013

Sigma Orionis is proud to contribute, since the end of the 90’s, to the strengthening of S&T cooperation between Europe and China in the ICT domain, namely in the framework of projects supported by the European Commission’s DG Connect. The most recent of such projects is the FP7 OpenChina-ICT support action, co-coordinated by Sigma Orionis, and developing its activities over the period 2012-2013.

The project final conference will take place on November 5, 2013 in Vilnius, Lithuania as a side event to the ICT2013 conference and exhibition, the largest European forum for ICT research and innovation organized every two years by the European Commission.

This conference is taking place at a key period when new instruments for international cooperation are being shaped in the perspective of Horizon 2020. In this context, one of the main highlights of the conference will be the discussion of a “EU-China ICT Cooperation Plan” presenting the potential for cooperation in ICT research between Europe and China and including a set of recommendations on how to better foster this cooperation in the future.
